Where do you ship?

We ship anywhere in the United States other than Hawaii and Alaska. Nor are we able to ship to Puerto Rico, P.O. Boxes or APO/FPO addresses. The costs to ship to these states make it impractical. Having said that, we can ship anywhere if you bear the cost of shipping. Contact us for shipping costs outside of the 48 contiguous states.

How long will it take to receive my order?

It will depend on the actual product you purchase from us. We will be adding new products in the months ahead. Most of our products will ship within 5 -7 business days of your order, however, for a complex custom shutter it could take up to 8 weeks. Each product will have an estimated lead time on its individual product page.

Do you charge for shipping?

It will depend on the product and this information will be located on the page describing the specific product.

Do you charge sales tax?

We are not required, nor do we charge sale taxes outside of the state of Texas, where our company is located. Should the law change about how internet companies collect taxes we will revisit this issue.

Why do you recommend that windows should be covered with only one shutter panel rather than 2 or more?

To allow the largest amount of light and outside view, one shutter does a better job. One shutter uses less wood in the center of your window to block your view and light.

Can you send me a catalog or brochure?

To offer lower prices we have to keep our costs down. For that reason we do not offer a printed catalog or brochure. Everything we offer is on our site or in the case of certain custom shapes or specialty woods by direct contact with our sales department.

What do you mean by inside and outside mount?

This refers to the way in which the treatment will be mounted or installed, either inside or outside the window opening. Inside mounts are mounted/installed inside the window opening that is recessed from the wall. Outside mounts are mounted/installed outside the window opening either on the wall, on top of any molding, or above and beyond the window molding. The inside mount is the most common way to mount/install window treatments today and provides a finished custom look. Outside mount are great for doors or for windows with a very shallow window sill depth. Outside mounts can also be used to make a window appear larger or to hide an unattractive window.

What are my payment options?

We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express, and Discover credit cards. You can also pay by check or money order, however there will be a 7 hold on check so they can clear your bank before the order is processed.

Is there a minimum window depth for an inside mount?

Yes and No. The minimum window sill depth for an inside mount varies depending on the product. We list the depth required under the specifications for each product. With Custom product we can make adjustments to almost any situation. Online we handle about 95% of what you normally will find in a home today. If you are unsure or not able to order your product through our site, contact us and we will complete your order off line.

What is your return policy?

Returns are on a case by case basis. Custom products usually can not be resold since they will not fit a different person’s situation. Returns are available only in the case of manufacturer errors in production of your product, of if damaged in shipping. A return authorization must be issued by Shutter Decor and will be for the product to be reworked or replaced at Shutter Decor’s option.

Can I change, cancel, or get a refund of my order after it is placed?

All products are individually Custom built to your specifications. As such, once production begins it is not normally able to be resold. Any order placed before 2pm Central Standard Time(CST) will be placed in the production cycle the next business day. Because our products are custom built, when your order is completed on our site your credit card is charged for the total sales amount to include any taxes, fees, and shipping(if applicable).

Your order can be changed or cancelled based on the following: (1) we receive your request by phone during business hours (2) we receive that request before 2pm of the day following placement of the order on our web site. (3) An administrative charge of 10% will be accessed by Shutter Decor. (4) A restocking fee may be charged by the manufacturer which you will be liable for.

After the 12 hour period has passed no refunds, in store credits, or credits will be give due to changes or cancellations.

When will you charge my credit card?

All products are custom built to order and payment is required prior to start of production. If payment was made with a credit card the full amount of your order was charged to your card at the time your order was placed. If payment is made by check, a hold of 5-7 days will be placed on the check. Once your check clears the order will be placed in production.

If I place my order online will I receive any type of order confirmation?

Yes you will receive an immediate order confirmation via email.

Will you give out my personal information to other companies and/or advertisers?

Absolutely not. All information you provide us will be kept confidential and be used solely by us and will never be shared with other companies.

Are your online transactions secure?

Absolutely. Our online server software (SSL) is the industry standard. It encrypts all of your personal information including credit card number so that it cannot be read as the information travels over the Internet. However if you prefer not to submit your information over the Internet, just contact us to place your order via phone, or mail.

Can I check my order status online? Will I be notified when my order ships?

Yes, you can check your order status online by clicking the Order Status link in the top right hand corner of this page. In addition you will be notified via email the day after your order ships and we will provide you with tracking number(s).
