Custom Wood Shutters Installed Where? |
• Inside Mounted
• Outside Mounted
|
Where your shutter should be installed depends on many things; any special features ( It tilts in or out, it cranks to open, etc..), or maybe, the style or "look" you are trying for. The following are some guidelines for the different mounting options of your shutter. If after reading these guidelines, you are still not sure - Contact us - we would be happy to help.
|
Inside mounted means the shutter and it's frame is installed or "mounted" inside the window opening itself.
Outside mounted is installed or "mounted" around, outside, or on top of the window opening or molding/trim.
|
Why select Inside Mounted Shutters?
- Gives a flush look to the shutter for a true Custom Window Treatment.
- If your Window has a Sill that protrudes.
- Note* Window Depth must be at least 2”. Measure from front of the window opening to the obstacle that projects furthest from the back of the window, not the glass.

Why select Outside Mounted Shutters?
- If the window depth is less than 2”.
- Your window tilts inward and you want to continue to use that feature - our Greco frame is perfect.
- You have two or more very thin windows side by side, you can use one shutter mounted outside both to create the look of one large window.
- It completes the "look" you are trying for in your room
